H.Res. 1099Passed
Iran State Sponsor of Terrorism Resolution (H.Res. 1099)
Vote: March 5, 2026House, 119th Congress, Session 2Roll Call #84
Summary
Non-binding resolution reaffirming that Iran remains the world's largest state sponsor of terrorism. Passed under suspension of the rules requiring a two-thirds majority.
Editorial Note
House GOP leadership scheduled this vote seven minutes before the war powers resolution, and the sequencing was not subtle. Vote to affirm Iran is the world's largest state sponsor of terrorism, then immediately vote on whether to stop fighting that same country. 53 Democrats saw through it and voted Nay, arguing the resolution was being weaponized as rhetorical cover for the war. The other 157 Democrats voted Yea anyway. Every Republican voted Yea.
