S.J.Res. 32Failed

Block Bulldozer Sale to Israel (S.J.Res. 32)

Vote: April 15, 2026Senate, 119th Congress, Session 2Roll Call #80

Summary

Motion to discharge from the Foreign Relations Committee. Would have blocked a $295 million sale of Caterpillar D9R and D9T armored bulldozers to Israel, including spare parts, corrosion protection, training, and logistics support. The D9 is the bulldozer Israel uses to demolish homes and clear buildings in Gaza, the West Bank, and southern Lebanon.

Editorial Note

40 Yea, 59 Nay. Historic. The Senate has never had this many votes to block weapons to Israel. 15 in April 2025, 27 in July, now 40. 40 of 47 in the Democratic caucus voted Yea, meaning only seven Democrats voted to keep the Caterpillar D9s flowing. Sanders called those seven cowardly bullshit. Every Republican voted Nay and the sale goes through. The D9 is what Israel uses to demolish homes in Gaza and the West Bank. These specific bulldozers are headed to southern Lebanon next, where the IDF has been bulldozing villages along the border since November, and a majority of the Senate just confirmed that 59 of them are fine with that.
